Skin-to-Skin, a showcase of contemporary developments in the field of textile art, opens at the Standard Bank Gallery in Johannesburg on 15 April 2008, running until 10 May, 2008. Curated by Fiona Kirkwood, the exhibition reflects our multi-cultural identity and unique history through diverse work by South African artists using textile-related concepts, techniques and materials. The participating artists include Tamlin Blake, Leora Farber, Fiona Kirkwood, Walter Oltmann, Jane Makhubele and Yda Walt. Skin-to-Skin was recently shown at the Kaunas Art Biennial - Textile 07 in Kaunas, Lithuania.
