Pitch your ideas to the TV broadcasters
Broadcasters are calling for proposals all the time. Media Africa and Busvannah Communications are once again offering their unique pitching courses.
“Pitching” is an intensive three-day hands-on competency-based course to turn delegates into world-class pitchers of films and TV programmes.
“Audience Psychology” is also three-days and enables delegates to get into the mind of a mass audience and find out what makes them tick.
These SAQA compliant, outcomes-based Short Courses are based on a decade of integrity and success enjoyed by widely acclaimed trainers and assessors. They are directed to enterprise standards, assessed and competencies are certificated.
Howard Thomas, who has been working in the entertainment and media industry for 40 years and who himself is a SAQA-qualified trainer, assessor and quality assurance manager, has designed and will run the courses. Besides assessing competencies, the courses include full interactive workbooks, a library of resources, and opportunities for personal coaching and consultancy.
“Pitching” has developed over five years. It takes learners right through the early stages of conceptualisation; introduces them to broadcaster secrets, and develops people who can make pitching skills work for them. The recent season in
“Audience Psychology” has always been run in-house and privately. This is the first time it has been opened to the profession at
large. It gives delegates the skills to get into the mind of the audience in all media, formats and genres. Commented Howard Thomas: “the participant-centred, workshop format uses interactive and experiential activities, including discussions, case studies, personal research, skill practise and lectures”.
