Fresh works of art on call for Vuleka

_{Calling all artists! If you are yearning to see the real Mona Lisa in the Musée du Louvre, stroll down the Champs-Elysées to the Arc de Triomphe or gaze down onto the city of Paris from the Eiffel Tower or Montmartre, etc. the first thing to do is to enter the 2007 Vuleka Art Competition.}

_{By doing that you will stand a chance to emulate painter Marlise Keith from Cape Town who will soon depart for Paris on a FREE return flight she has won in last year’s Vuleka competition.}

_{Vuleka is the Xhosa word for ‘open’ and this prestigious national art competition is open to any artist (18 years and older) who has not had a solo exhibition in the past three years. There is but one proviso: Only original works of art completed during 2006/2007 may be entered.}

_{Vuleka is hosted annually by The Arts Association of Bellville (art.b) in conjunction with the financial services group Sanlam. It is aimed at encouraging creativity, innovation and adventurous art from all cultures. Selected artists from the competition will also participate in an exhibition in Bellville’s art.b Gallery.}

_{Artists may enter unlimited artworks in any of three categories, even all of them:}

_{•           Paintings in oil, water colour or acrylic;}

_{•           Three-dimensional works; ceramics included, and}

_{•           Works in any other medium, including photography.}

_{Apart from a winner in each of these categories, the best artwork overall will be selected.}

_{For the overall winner a cheque of R7 000 AND a return flight ticket to Paris are waiting. Prize money of R2 000 is at stake for each category winner.}

_{Aandag alle kunstenaars! As dit jou hartsbegeerte is om die regte-egte Mona Lisa in die Louvre-kunsmuseum te aanskou, langs die Champs-Elysées na die Arc de Triomphe te drentel, of van die Eiffel-toring of Montmartre af oor die stad Parys te staar, ensomeer, skryf nou in vir die 2007-Vuleka-kunskompetisie.}

_{Dit sal jou ‘n kans laat staan om VERNIET dáár te kom - soos tans die geval is met die skilderes Marlise Keith van Kaapstad wat binnekort na Parys vertrek op die retoervlug wat sy verlede jaar in die Vuleka-kompetisie gewen het.}

_{Vuleka is die Xhosa-woord vir ‘oop’ en die prestigeryke nasionale Vuleka-kunskompetisie is oop vir enige kunstenaar ouer as 18
jaar wat nie gedurende die afgelope drie jaar ‘n solo-tentoonstelling gehou het nie. Daar is net een voorwaarde vir deelname: Slegs oorspronklike kunswerke wat gedurende 2006/2007 voltooi is, mag ingeskryf word.}

_{Die kompetisie word jaarliks deur die Kunsvereniging van Bellville (art.b) in samewerking met die finansiële dienste-groep Sanlam aangebied. Dit is daarop gerig om veral kreatiwitieit, innovering en avontuurlike kuns uit alle kulture aan te moedig. Gekeurde kunstenaars sal ook deel wees van ‘n groepstentoonstelling in die art.b-galery.}

_{Kunstenaars kan onbeperk kunswerke in enige van drie kategorieë inskryf, selfs almal:}

_{•           Skilderye in olie-, water- of akrielverf;}

_{•           Drie-dimensionele werke, keramiek ingesluit; en}

_{•           Werke in enige ander medium, fotografie ingesluit.}

_{Benewens ‘n wenner in elke kategorie, sal die beste kunswerk algeheel aangewys word.}

_{Vir die algehele wenner wag ‘n tjek vir R7 000 EN ‘n retoervliegkaartjie na Parys, Frankryk. Vir elke kategoriewenner is R2 000 op die spel.}
